News Center –TDO-Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Turkish-Japanese Foundation (TJF) held a seminar themed “Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction Activities” in TJF Ankara Office hosted by Japan’s Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima.
Deputy Minister of National Education RehaDenemeç, Japan's Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima, Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority Mehmet Güllüoğlu, President of the Turkish-Japanese Foundation Dr. CaferTayyarSadıklar, Senior Vice President of JICA Kazuhiko Koshikawa,Tukey Executive of JICA EminÖzdamar, Head of JICA Turkey Office TakehiroYasui and many other guests attended to the event.
Ambassador Miyajima, made a speech at the seminar and he stated the cooperation between Turkey and Japan especially after the natural disasters these two countries experienced.
Ambassador Miyajima also said, "A friend in need is a friend indeed" in his speech and told that he appreciated the supports from the Turkish people, especially President RecepTayyipErdoğan, after serious natural disasters happened in Japan.
Mr. Ambassador stated that he had a chance to visit different cities of Turkey and said, "Wherever I visit in Turkey, Turkish people welcomed me in a very warm way and I am very happy about that. Turkey and Japan are geographically far from each other but are close to people's hearts."
Ambassador Miyajima ended his speech with saying, “Turkey and Japan are two different countries, but their hearts beating together.”
Deputy Minister of National Education RehaDenemeçalso made a speech at the event and he said, “These events strengthen the ties and relations between Turkey and Japan. It is important to benefit from Japan’s experiences in disaster risk reduction. “
President of Turkish-Japanese Foundation Mr. Sadıklarstated that it was not easy to reducing the disaster risk, but they were their best to achieve it. He also conveyed his thanks to JICA Turkey Office and Japan Embassy.
Senior Vice President of JICA Kazuhiko Koshikawa said that Turkey and Japan have a long and special relationship and stressed that they work together to reduce the risk of natural disasters. Koshikawa also said, "Japan and Turkey have supported each other in difficult times.”
Japan’s Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima presented a plaque to Tukey Executive of JICA EminÖzdamar for his contribution to the development of friendly relations between Japan and Turkey and appreciated his actions, especially for children with mental disabilities.
Deputy Minister of National Education RehaDenemeç, Ambassador Miyajima, Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority Mehmet Güllüoğluand Vice President of Turkish-Japanese Foundation Nejat Borasayan presented the rewards to the winners of the drawing contest, of which theme was "Turkish-Japanese Friendship".
